It\u2019s also been recommended as one of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finder.com\/uk\/business-banking\/best-business-accounts\">best business bank accounts<\/a>. <\/p><h3>What is Mettle?<\/h3><p>Mettle is a standalone business bank account offered by (but separate to) its parent company, high street bank NatWest. It has been featured in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finder.com\/uk\/business-banking\">best business bank accounts guide<\/a>, and offers free access to accounting software FreeAgent. You can also integrate your account with Xero and QuickBooks.<\/p><p>This digital business account can be seen as a response to the challenger banks which have changed the face of banking in the last few years \u2013 reeling in customers by letting them open and manage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finder.com\/uk\/best-business-banking-apps\">app-based business bank accounts<\/a> through their mobile phones, as well as offering great exchange rates for people who travel frequently. Mettle can also be accessed via the web.<\/p><p>Mettle lets business customers apply for an account in minutes, forecast business performance, create invoices and ringfence money for bills. All of this is possible in its mobile app, which is designed to be easy to use, as well as free to use.<\/p><h3>How does Mettle work?<\/h3><p>Mettle offers its users a number of features, including:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Fast application.<\/strong> Mettle will let customers open a business bank account in a matter of minutes.<\/li><li><strong>Invoicing.<\/strong> You can create and send customised invoices on the go. The app will let you know when you\u2019ve been paid or if you need to chase.<\/li><li><strong>Reporting.<\/strong> You\u2019re able to categorise business transactions and manage your expenses. You can then export your data and share it with your accountant.<\/li><li><strong>Accounting.<\/strong> Accounting software FreeAgent is included for free, but you can also integrate your account with Xero and QuickBooks.<\/li><li><strong>Payments.<\/strong> You can schedule payments on the go and manage recurring payments directly from the app.<\/li><li><strong>Money pots.<\/strong> Set money aside from your main account into a \u201cmoney pot\u201d, where you can ringfence funds for future outgoings like corporation tax or VAT.<\/li><li><strong>No card fees abroad.<\/strong> There are no fees for using your card abroad and each transaction uses the exchange rates set by Mastercard.<\/li><li><strong>Freeze or unfreeze your card.<\/strong> You can lock your card in the app if you think you\u2019ve lost it, then just unlock it if the card shows up.<\/li><\/ul><p>There\u2019s also the option to upgrade to Mettle+ for \u00a34 a month.
