Market capitalisation (often referred to as \u201cmarket cap\u201d) is the total value of a company\u2019s outstanding shares of stock. It\u2019s pretty easy to calculate \u2013 it\u2019s just the total outstanding shares multiplied by the market value of one share.<\/p>

To find the market cap of a stock exchange, you add up the market capitalisation of all of the companies in the exchange. The biggest stock exchanges each have market capitalisations of more than US$6 trillion.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n
