Disney is smashing records left, right and centre with its new theatrical releases. Frozen 2, which came out at cinemas in late November 2019, quickly replaced live-action movie The Lion King as the animated film with the highest-grossing opening ever.

By the end of the year, Frozen 2 had already taken the sixth highest revenue of any film at the UK box office in 2019. Disney dominated the top 10 in this department, with Avengers: Endgame and The Lion King taking the first and second spots.

When will Frozen 2 be on Disney+?

In some countries, including the USA, the film’s release was brought forward by three months from June 2020, and has been available to watch for a while.

The good news is that, starting 3 July, audiences in the UK can join in the magic and stream Frozen 2 in the comfort of their own home!

Disney+ once came with a free trial, but by the time Frozen 2 comes out that will no longer be the case and you’ll have to sign up directly. Still, totally worth it, no?

Other Frozen content on Disney+

There is also plenty of other Frozen-related content for fans to watch or rewatch on Disney+ right now.

This of course includes the original Frozen movie (along with fun bonus content), as well as shorter shows such as Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, Frozen Fever and Frozen Northern Lights.

Is Frozen 2 any good?

Yes. While critics describe it as darker and less impactful than the original, the title received positive reviews and it currently has a score of 77% on Rotten Tomatoes.

If you’re unfamiliar with the plot, the movie follows Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven as they embark on a magical journey to discover the origin of Elsa’s powers. The movie has a lot of heart and plenty of action, so it should delight viewers of all ages.

As for the cast, it includes Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, Jonathan Groff, Sterling K. Brown and Evan Rachel Wood.

Disney+ details

As well as the Frozen films, Disney+ offers plenty of other TV shows and movies for the entire family, including various Pixar flicks, lots of hilarious comedies and all of the Star Wars and Marvel titles.
