A select number of retailers offer the ability to pay via Splitit, a scheme that allows you to split your payments into bite-sized chunks over time.
Splitit works much like many other buy now, pay later providers, in that it partners with retailers looking to offer finance through a third party. When you browse and shop from a specific store offering Splitit, you can select Splitit as your payment method at the checkout and use a Visa or Mastercard credit card to split your payments.
The company does not charge any interest on payments or late fees. However, as payments are being charged to your credit card, you may be charged interest or charges imposed by your credit card issuer under its agreement. Debit cards may be used at some retailers, although not all stores will accept debit cards.

Splitit offers four payment structures:
You pay no upfront or annual fee to use Splitit and there are no hidden costs or late fees. The only potential extra costs may be incurred by your credit card company, we recommend contacting your bank for more details.
Yes. Splitit complies with Visa, Mastercard and UnionPay operating standards. The company uses communication security technology (single-socket layer/ SSL) to keep payment information safe.
Since Splitit works on your existing credit limit, there are no applications when purchasing with Splitit. You can start shopping with Splitit as soon as you purchase from a retailer in its store directory and select Splitit at the checkout.
In order to log in to your Splitit account, you must then use the credentials that were emailed to you after your purchase.
You can browse the full list of Splitit retailers here.
Splitit does not charge users late fees if they miss payments. However, it’s best to get in touch with Splitit as soon as you can if you think you’re going to struggle to clear your balance.
If you encounter a problem, check out Splitit’s list of FAQs. Can’t find your question on there? Chat online with a member of the customer service team.
Splitit is a great pay later alternative to big players Klarna and Clearpay. It’s interest-free, charges no late fees and offers flexible payment plans, but we would like to see the service partnering with more big-name brands.
Splitit is a convenient choice if you own a credit card and are also looking to buy a product now and pay for it later (on a site that’s partnered with it). The service boasts flexible payments, anywhere between 3 and 24 instalments, and there are no late fees. That being said, Splitit does not yet partner with a range of high-street brands, which would undoubtedly make the service more attractive to a larger number of shoppers.
