Round 1: Performance

Shark WV251UKShark WandVac 2.0 WV270UK
Hard surface cleaning★★★★★★★★★★
Carpet cleaning★★★★★★★★★★
Pet hair cleaning★★★★★★★★★★
Crevice cleaning★★★★★★★★★★
Finder rating★★★★★★★★★★

It’s an odd matchup between these 2. The WV251UK beats the WV270UK on carpet and hard floor, purely because it can pick up a bit more rubbish before clogging. The WV270UK clogged and threw up cereal when picking up the same amount as the WV251UK. Aside from that, its boost mode and crevice cleaning is excellent. It’ll pick up pet hair better than the WV251UK too.

Round 2: Convenience

Capacity (litres)0.10.1
Dirt release button
Charging dock

Both match each other on convenience, but the WV251UK takes the gold with a slightly more spacious dust chamber. The WV270UK’s dust cup is the reason why it’ll clog quicker, and it’s harder to clean.

Round 3: Charge time and run time

Shark WV251UKShark WandVac 2.0 WV270UK
Charge time (hours)2.53.5
Run time (minutes)1615

With 1 battery the WV251UK only lasts 8 minutes, then you can replace it for another 8. The WV270UK has 15 minutes on normal mode, which significantly reduces when you hit that boost button.

Overall winner: Shark WV270UK

It was tough to choose the winner here. The WV270UK just gets it with its boost mode and decent run time (without the need for another battery). While it does clog up quicker than the WV251UK, it’s only marginal in terms of the amount of debris. Plus, it looks lovely.
