Labrador pet insurance
Find out everything you need to know about insuring your Labrador
Insuring the things that matter most to us often gives us peace of mind, and your cherished Labrador’s health is no exception.
It can often be difficult to decide which pet insurance policy is best, as not every policy suits the medical requirements for every breed. So, to find a policy that is right for your pup whilst and that won’t break the bank, check out our guide to finding the best insurance for your Lab.
What is the best type of insurance for Labradors
When choosing which pet insurance policy is right for you and your Labrador, it’s important to recognise how each policy works in relation to your dog’s health requirements.
Although it is often the most expensive form of policy offered, a lifetime insurance policy may be a worthwhile investment to consider. There are a number of illnesses that your Labrador is likely to encounter that have the potential to become long-term, such as degenerative joint disease. This is an important factor to think about, as with a lifetime policy your financial limit for each condition restarts every year at renewal, and so you are less likely to fund treatments yourself.
If this does not appeal to you, consider a maximum benefit policy for your Labrador. This option is often more affordable, and you can claim more than once for the same condition should your Labrador need it. However, it is important to understand that with this policy your financial limit does not restart with renewal, so once the limit is reached you will have to pay for the treatment yourself.
