extraenergy | Electricity, gas and dual fuel tariffs
Find out more about Extra Energy with our useful guide.
Extraenergy is the British offshoot of German company Extraenergie and a relatively new entrant to the UK energy market. Like most small suppliers, they’re able to tackle the Big Six on price. Check them out if you’re looking to make savings and switch from one of the bigger suppliers.
See how extraenergy fares against the competition, and find the right energy deal for your home.
Is extraenergy cheap?
When it comes to price, extraenergy seems to live up to its promises – they offer some of the cheapest dual fuel tariffs in the UK. However, costs vary depending on your location – use a comparison tool like the one at the top of this page to find the best deal for your home.
Something to remember
There is no single cheapest energy supplier out there, only the cheapest provider for you and your usage requirements. If it gets confusing, you can always come back and consult finder.com’s energy pages and guides!
How do customers rate extraenergy?
extraenergy saw a huge rise in complaints in 2016, an issue they attributed to a sudden growth in customers numbers, and were subsequently ranked as one of the worst energy suppliers for customer service. However, the complaints rate has been steadily improving – in the first quarter of 2017 the company managed to resolve 45% of customer complaints within one working day and 86% within 8 weeks.

Can I get a smart meter with extraenergy?

How do I make a complaint to extraenergy?
It comes with the territory. If a boiler breaks or the electricity goes out, people don’t tend to be too happy!
With extraenergy, you have the following options for registering a complaint:
- Call 0800 953 4774
- Email firstname.lastname@example.org
- Write to Extra Energy Supply Ltd, PO Box 10243, Ashby de la Zouch, LE65 9ED
Of course, make sure to Google around or visit extraenergy’s website to see if someone might have already had the same problem you’re having!
What is a 'dual fuel' tariff?
With one of these tariffs you’ll get both your gas and electricity from the same supplier. This makes life a lot easier. There’s one bill, one direct debit, one number to call if you need to speak to someone. A dual fuel tariff could save you money, but it’s not necessarily the cheapest option.
In some cases, it’s still cheaper to have your gas and electricity provided by separate suppliers.
