What is Creation?
Creation Financial Services has been established for more than 40 years, and has offices in Solihull and Belfast. It’s part of the French banking group BNP Paribas, and also offers personal loans and insurance policies.
Creation credit cards are part of the Mastercard network, so they’re accepted in more than 35 million locations worldwide.
What types of credit cards does Creation offer?
Rewards cards
With a rewards card, you’ll be able to earn loyalty points, cashback or air miles while you spend, depending on the card. Before you apply for a rewards card, check out the earn rate (rewards per pound spent) and weigh it up against any fees plus interest that you’re going to be charged to see if it’s worthwhile. Creation’s Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) rewards cards allow users to earn IHG Rewards Club bonus points each time they use the cards. What’s more, purchases at IHG locations earn points at an even higher rate. So, if you’re a regular at IHG hotels, Creation’s IHG Rewards Club cards will be worth a closer look.

If you already have a credit card with a balance outstanding, that doesn’t mean you can’t (or shouldn’t) switch to a new card. If you’re being charged interest on the outstanding balance, a card with 0% on balance transfers can allow you to transfer the balance and enjoy 0% interest on it for a specified period. You should aim to clear the balance before the 0% period expires, however, otherwise a higher rate will kick in. Expect to pay a transfer fee, which is normally around 2-3% of the balance.

“All-round” or “balanced” credit cards are built for a variety of purposes, rather than just one. If you hold an existing credit card debt but also want to make purchases on a new card, for example, then an “all-rounder” could work well for you, as these cards normally come with a 0% period on both balance transfers and purchases (after which both will revert to a higher rate).

Enjoy a host of perks specifically tailored to fans, like 0% on season tickets, discounts at the team’s store, priority tickets, prize draws and access to meet-and-greet sessions. Oh, and naturally you’ll get a card in the club’s colours. Whilst these cards may seem like a novelty, the rates are actually competitive, even offering a 0% balance transfer deal. The only catch? The current range only covers a select few teams… Come on Ref!
