Finder’s new series of Innovation Awards recognise financial providers that are innovating in their chosen field, by bringing new and impactful features to the market and delivering beneficial services to their customers.
The latest instalment of our Innovation Awards series focuses on the banking and personal finance sector for the first time. A shortlist of providers was drawn together by Finder’s subject area specialists and the finalists were then assessed by an expert panel of judges.

The shortlist of finalists in each category was selected by Finder’s subject area specialists, who identified the providers they felt were displaying key innovations in their field.
The shortlist was then passed to an expert judging panel (details below), who decided the winning and highly commended companies by assessing the finalists across three different criteria: uniqueness of innovation, impact in the market and value to customers.

Dawn Dunn manages the FinTech Cluster for Dynamo, a technology network in the north east of England. Dynamo works with corporates, SMEs, universities and public sector organisations to curate an ecosystem that fosters innovation and growth in the delivery of financial services through technology.
Gavin Brown is an associate professor in financial technology at the University of Liverpool, where his research focuses on payment technologies and the future of money. He is a published author and a fellow of the ICAEW as a chartered accountant. Gavin is also the co-founder and director of a digital assets fund.
Matthew Boyle is the banking and mortgages publisher at Finder, where he focuses on creating content and helpful guides to assist consumers in making better financial decisions. He has been at Finder for two years and has nearly a decade’s experience in digital publishing.
Simon Barrows is a consultant specialising in financial services technology strategy and innovation. He was previously CTO for consumer banking, cards and payments at a major UK bank, and has judged multiple times on technology awards across the banking industry.
