Apple launches Apple Watch Series 3
A new Apple Watch is on its way.
Apple has officially announced the third revision of its Apple Watch smart device at its “Meet at our Place” event.
Apple Watch 3 sticks with the square-faced form factor of Apple Watch 2, expanding its range of bands rather than completely overhauling the existing design.
On the functionality side, Apple Watch 3 comes with built-in 4G LTE connectivity for accessing the Internet without needing to be connected to your iPhone. You can make regular calls right from Apple Watch 3, too, since the device now ships with a built-in cellular antenna.
Apple Music support is coming to Apple Watch Series 3, too, with the full range of 40 million songs from the service available for listening on the device.
The new watchOS 4, available on all Apple Watch devices 19 September, will display your heart rate directly on the watch face, as well as offer new measurements including resting heart rate and recovery heart rate.
New watch faces and band styles are on their way to Apple Watch Series 3, with a new Ceramic Grey finish available, too.
Two versions of Apple Watch Series 3 will be available, one with cellular and one without.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the Apple Watch was now “the number one watch in the world” citing Rolex as the competition it had overtaken. Cook stated that 97% of Apple Watch users were satisfied by the device, according to its own research.
