Today’s top U.S. stocks: Dick’s Sporting Goods (DKS ↑16.1%), Affirm Holdings (AFRM ↑6.7%)

The best performing stocks in NYSE and Nasdaq trading today were Dick’s Sporting Goods (DKS, up 16.1%) and Affirm Holdings (AFRM, up 6.7%).

The market overall traded fairly flat, with the Nasdaq and NYSE composites both up, but by less than a half percent.

Standout performers in U.S. markets Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021

Dick’S Sporting Goods (DKS) was the biggest gainer today.

Shares in the company rose 16.1% to $132.85.

“Dick’s announced a special dividend for shareholders as record earnings keep coming in, so it looks strong,” said Finder’s investment’s publisher Ron Prichard.

Second place for market gainers went to Affirm Holdings (AFRM), a NASDAQ company.

It rose 6.7% to reach $73.11. Shares are way down this year and it seems some think the stock is now a buy.
