Top performer badges in trading today go to Liberty Global Plc (LBTYB, up 5.0%) and Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (AEM, up 2.6%).

But not many stocks were up as the relief rally that followed yesterday’s Federal Reserve rate hike gave way to a serious decline. The Dow gave up nearly 750 points, while the S&P 500 declined 2.6% and the Nasdaq more than 4% as fear spread that the Fed would push the economy into recession.

Liberty Global Plc (LBTYB) was the standout gainer today.

Shares in the company rose 5.0% to $22.47.

In second spot for market gains was Agnico Eagle Mines (AEM), the NYSE company.

It rose 2.6% to reach $50.51.
