The best performing stocks in NYSE and Nasdaq trading today were Salesforce.Com Inc (CRM, up 9.9%) and Southwestern Energy Company (SWN, up 5.7%).
US stocks declined after better-than-expected manufacturing data and high job openings signaled the Federal Reserve may need to increase interest rates more aggressively to slow inflation. The S&P 500 fell 0.8%, while the Nasdaq declined by 0.7%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.5%.

Salesforce.Com Inc (CRM) was the top gainer today.
Shares in the company rose 9.9% to $176.18, after the company boosted its full year adjusted profit forecast.
Salesforce’s results showed the company’s resilience even as rising inflation threatens economic growth and business spending on software, Finder markets editor Luzi Ann Javier said.

In second spot for market gains was Southwestern Energy Company (SWN), the NYSE company.
It rose 5.7% to reach $9.64.
Southwestern Energy rose along with other energy stocks as crude oil prices rose.
