The best performing companies in trading today were Ptc Inc. (PTC, up 17.7%) and Meta Platforms (FB, up 16.6%).
Meta rose on a mixed but overall positive earnings report yesterday after the bell, and its momentum seemed to carry the market up. The Nasdaq rose 3%, the S&P 500 2.5% and the Dow 1.8%.
Two other tech giants reported after the bell today, with Amazon dropping on its numbers and Apple rising slightly. So it’s hard to tell if the rally will continue.

PTC Inc. (PTC) was the dominant gainer today.
Shares in the company rose 17.7% to $114.86.
“The computer services company issued another strong earnings report, and it looks like the market decided it has been unfairly beaten down this year,” said Finder Finance News Editor Ron Prichard.

Second place for market gainers went to Meta Platforms (FB). The former Facebook rose 16.6% to reach $203.92.
That followed a mixed earnings report after the bell yesterday that shows a rise in usage for the quarter. Shares had dropped a quarter earlier when the company report a first-ever decline in usage.
