The best performing companies today were Mechel Pao ADRs (MTL-, up 22.0%) and Square Inc. (SQ, up 16.5%).
The market followed yesterday’s volatile, Ukraine-driven trading with a sizable bounce back. The Dow added 834 points, or 2.5%, while the S&P 500 gained 2.2% and the Nasdaq Composite 1.6%. For the week, the S&P was flat while the Dow and Nasdaq dropped less than 1%.

Mechel Pao ADRs (MTL-) was the largest gainer today.
Shares in the company rose 22.0% to $1.33.
“This is a Russia-based stock and the ADR started the week above $2, so the gain isn’t as significant as it might look,” said Finder Finance News Editor Ron Prichard.
Another strong performer was Square Inc. (SQ). The NYSE company rose 16.5% to reach $110.62 after a strong earnings report.
