The best performing stocks in NYSE and Nasdaq trading today were Yandex N.V. (YNDX, up 13.5%) and Mechel Pao ADRs (MTL, up 9.3%).
Stocks spent the day in a broad rally largely credited to lessening of tensions over Ukraine. The Nasdaq jumped 2.5%, the S&P 500 1.6% and the Dow 1.2%.

Yandex N.V. (YNDX) was the top gainer today.
Shares in the company rose 13.5% to $51.30.
“Yandex reported solid earnings. But keep in mind it’s an Internet giant in Russia and plunged last week on the possibility that country would invade Ukraine. With tensions easing, this may be a bounce back from that,” said Finder Finance News Editor Ron Prichard.

The second-best mover was Mechel Pao ADRs (MTL), an NYSE company based in Russia.
It rose 9.3% to reach $4.01.
“This might have also been related to Russia relief,” Prichard said.
