The best performing stocks in NYSE and Nasdaq trading today were Peloton Interactive Inc. (PTON, up 13.3%) and Alcoa Corporation (AA, up 9.5%).
Overall the market was up, with the Nasdaq Composite up 1.3% and the Dow more than 1%.

Peloton Interactive Inc. (PTON) was the top gainer today.
Shares in the company rose 13.3% to $33.72.
“After a rough run Peloton is surging, with a new CEO today and continuing hope it might be acquired by a major company. There are still a lot of uncertainties, though,” said Finder Finance News Editor Ron Prichard.

Another strong performer was Alcoa Corporation (AA), the NYSE company.
It rose 9.5% to reach $69.78.
“Aluminum just hit a longtime high in price, lifting related stocks,” Prichard said.
