The best performing stocks on the NYSE and Nasdaq today were Mechel Pao ADRs (MTL-, up 10.9%) and Eli Lilly And Co. (LLY, up 7.5%).

The market overall was up on the day, with the Nasdaq Composite up 2% and the S&P 500 1.5%.

Mechel Pao ADRs (MTL) was the dominant gainer today.

Shares in the company rose 10.9% to $1.63.

“This a small mining and steel company and it’s down about half since the fall, so it’s likely to remain volatile” said Finder Finance News Editor Ron Prichard.

Another strong performer was Eli Lilly And Company (LLY), the NYSE company. It rose 7.5% to reach $267.97.

The company raised its full-year forecasts and said new drugs will power a strong 2022 and 2023.
