The best-performing stocks in NYSE and Nasdaq trading today were XPeng Inc ADRs (XPEV, up 11.8%) and Burlington Stores Inc (BURL, up 10.2%).

The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 194.55 to 35,813.80 and the Nasdaq slipped 79.62 to close at 15,775.14. The S&P 500 index edged 7.76 higher to 4,690.70.
