The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped by 12.86 to close at 36,087.45 and the Nasdaq edged down 7.11 to settle at 15,853.85. The S&P 500 fell 0.50 to 4,682.80.

Dollar Tree Inc (DLTR) was the largest gainer today.
Shares in the company rose 13.3% to $128.14.
“Dollar Tree got a boost today when investing firm Mantle Ridge snapped up a $1.8 billion stake in the retail chain,” said Sheri Bechtel, editor of Finder’s US share trading and investing team. “Inflation pressures and a poor customer experience have forced the chain to reconsider their $1 price point and potentially raise their prices. The Mantle Ridge investment – and the board seats that come with it – could put Dollar Tree in a position to make changes that will benefit their bottom line, the stock and their Family Dollar holding.”
