The best performing companies today were Insulet Corporation (PODD, up 5.3%) and Zoom Video Communications Inc. (ZM, up 4.7%).
An earnings warning from social media company Snap (SNAP) helped send that sector down as the Nasdaq lost 2.3% on the day. The S&P 500 declined 0.8% and the Dow was slightly up.

Insulet Corporation (PODD) was the top gainer today.
Shares in the company rose 5.3% to $213.68 on news it might be acquired by DexCom (DXCM).

Also performing strongly was Zoom Video Communications Inc. (ZM), the NASDAQ company.
It rose 4.7% to reach $93.52.
“Its earnings report was strong with raised guidance, and after a drop from over $500 during the pandemic, the stock may have fallen enough,” said Finder Finance News Editor Ron Prichard.
