The best performing companies today were Cleveland-Cliffs (CLF, up 10.7%) and Nvidia (NVDA, up 7.0%).
The up-and-down market finished the day nicely up, with the Dow gaining 1%, the S&P 500 1.4% and the Nasdaq almost 2%.

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. (CLF) was the standout gainer today.
Shares in the company rose 10.7% to $32.29.
“The steel stock hit a multiyear high, as steel is one of the commodities seeing high prices tied to sanctions on Russia,” said Finder Finance News Editor Ron Prichard.

In second spot for market gains was Nvidia Corporation (NVDA), the NASDAQ company.
It rose 7.0% to reach $274.41.
“The company offered a lot of good news in the past couple of days, triggering a rally in chip stocks,” Prichard said.
