Also performing strongly was Valero Energy Corporation (VLO), the NYSE company.
It rose 7.2% to reach $90.07.
“It was a good day for a lot of basic materials stocks, including Agnico, and for energy stocks including Valero, as the market tries to figure out which companies benefit from reduced supplies from Russia and Ukraine,” said Finder Finance News Editor Ron Prichard.
