Top performer badges in trading today go to Sociedad Quimica Y Minera S.A. (SQM, up 6.5%) and Arcelor Mittal (MT, up 5.5%).

The market overall traded flat, with the major indexes all up but by less that 0.5%.

Sociedad Quimica Y Minera S.A. (SQM) was the top gainer today.

Shares in the company rose 6.5% to $55.25.

“Lithium prices are rising, which bodes well for this stock,” said Finder Finance News Editor Ron Prichard.

Also performing strongly was Arcelor Mittal (MT), the NYSE company. It rose 5.5% to reach $37.35.

“This stock could be benefitting from a rotation into stable sectors like commodities,” said Prichard.
