Tomb Shares, or TSHARE, is part of a multi-token protocol known as Tomb Finance. Tomb Finance has been developed with the aim of creating an ‘algorithmic token’ that is pegged to the value of FTM - the native coin of the Fantom blockchain.
The multi-token protocol of Tomb Finance consists of: (1) TOMB - the algorithm stablecoin that is pegged to the price of FTM, (2) Tomb Shares, or TSHARE - the project’s governance token, and (3) Tomb Bonds, or TBOND - the token used to maintain TOMB’s peg to FTM.
According to Tomb Finance’s documentation, the stablecoin, TOMB, was developed to free up liquidity that would otherwise be associated with FTM. As the maximum supply of FTM is capped and a high number of FTM tokens will be required to create nodes within the Fantom Blockchain, this may lower the amount of FTM that can be used for cheap transactions. By mirroring the price of FTM, it is the hope of Tomb Finance that TOMB will fill that transactional gap. The decision to develop TOMB was also driven by Tomb Finance’s long term conviction that Fantom will continue to grow and prosper as the project continues to garner more and more mainstream traction. TSHARE is a crucial element within the Tomb Finance ecosystem. Alongside helping to maintain the peg TOMB, TSHARE also provides governance rights to token holders, which allows users to vote on development proposals. TSHARE tokens are rewarded to those that provide liquidity provider tokens on the Tomb Finance website. TSHARE rewards can then be staked within the platform’s “Masonry” module to earn TOMB inflationary rewards.
