Is WhizComms broadband right for me?

- The highlights: Affordable standard plans with a quick online signup-process.
- Watch out for: Additional costs associated with the installment of fibre infrastructure.
Although WhizComms has been in the Singapore broadband market for almost 4 years, it’s still considered the new kid on the block relative to the island’s traditional telcos. Read on to find out if WhizComms Broadband is right for you.
Types of plans offered by WhizComms Singapore
WhizComms plans come in 3 varieties: No Frills, Wireless Router and Mesh-Wifi Solution. Both the No Frills and Wireless Router plans come with 12-month and 24-month options, while the Mesh-Wifi Solution plan only offers 24-month contracts.
WhizComms No Frills Plans
WhizComms No Frills Plans truly live up to their name. Using your own router, you can get access to fibre broadband at $38/month with the 12-month contract or $34/month with the 24-month contract. If you want a hassle-free, basic fibre broadband plan, WhizComms broadband plan offers one of the most competitive prices out of all of Singapore’s providers.
WhizComms Wireless Router Plans
On top of offering the basic services that come with the WhizComms No Frills Plans, these packages come with a TP-Link Archer C7 AC1750 wireless dual-band gigabit router. This gives you access to high-speed internet surfing, which could enhance your wireless experience. The 12-month contract is priced at $47/month, while the 24-month contract is priced at $39/month.
WhizComms Mesh Wi-Fi Solution Plan
This 24-month plan offers the perks of WhizComm’s standard-tier plans, but also comes with a pair of TP-Link Deco M5 Mesh wifi routers. This means fewer online lags, better quality streams and the elimination of wifi “dead-zones” at home.
How does fibre broadband work?
Fibre broadband uses a network of fibre optic cables to deliver high-speed data. With fibre broadband, you can experience a seamless online experience while having more devices logged onto the same network. You may also reduce the problem of having wifi dead zones at home. Before considering a WhizComms Singapore broadband plan, check if your home may be reached by fibre broadband by checking Netlink’s website. If your home has a termination point and fibre port, you may avoid additional installation costs.

There is also a Service Activation Fee of $53.50 inclusive of GST for all WhizComms’ Fibre Broadband Plans, as well as delivery and installation fees, unless otherwise stated during promotions.
Why is WhizComms able to offer Home Fibre Broadband service at such low rates? WhizComms operates on a digital platform without physical stores. That saves retail and manpower cost, which is translated to savings for subscribers. WhizComms also clearly segregates its plans to offer no-frills solutions for its subscribers, so there is a choice to get the preferred wireless routers and other accessories.
What is WhizComms’ Home Fibre Broadband available speed offering? WhizComms currently has 300Mbps and 1Gbps speed offerings.
How can I register for WhizComms’ Fibre Broadband Service? Interested subscribers may register online at WhizComm’s website. A welcome email will be sent upon successful registration. Use the login details from the welcome email to subscribe for your desired broadband plan.
