Benefits of using the UOB PRVI Miles Visa Card

Here are some of the key benefits you can look forward to:

  • Up to 6 miles for every S$1 spent on selected travel partners. Earn up to 6 miles for every S$1 spent on major airlines and hotels booked through Expedia, Agoda and UOB Travel.
    • High miles per dollar earn rate on all other categories. Earn UNI$3.5 for every S$5 spent (equivalent to 1.4 miles for every dollar spent) locally and UNI$6 for every S$5 spent overseas (equivalent to 2.4 miles for every dollar spent) overseas.
    • Wide array of reward redemption options. Depending on your preference, you may choose to redeem your air miles from over 40 partner airlines and convert them to cash to offset your spending or the cost of travel packages. Note that the UNI$ are only valid for two years after they were accrued (by quarterly period), so make sure to redeem them before they expire.
    • One year fee waiver. Benefit from an annual fee waiver in the first year. After that, a S$256.80 annual fee applies. You can also apply for up to two supplementary cards for free, but subsequent cards will cost S$128.40 p.a.
    • Petrol discounts. Save on your fuel cost with 28.3% off petrol at SPC and 14% off at Shell.

Features of the UOB PRVI Miles Visa Card

In addition to its elevated mileage earn rate, there are other features to the UOB PRVI Miles Card that should be of interest to you:

    • UOB PRVI Travel Butler. The card comes with a travel concierge service that can assist you with your travel arrangements, such as accommodation, flights, insurance, travel packages and car rental bookings.
    • Choice of card issuer. The UOB PRVI Miles Card comes with three provider options: American Express, Mastercard or Visa. You’ll get to choose your preferred card issuer when applying.
    • Travel insurance. Enjoy complimentary personal accident coverage and emergency medical assistance of up to S$500,000 when you charge the full airfare to your card. If you prefer to travel with complete ease of mind, you have the option to enhance your partial cover to full protection with a 60% discount on your single trip plan.
    • Eligible for KrisFlyer UOB Account’s bonus mile earn. Maximise your miles by earning an extra 5 miles per S$1 spend when you open a KrisFlyer UOB Deposit Account and maintain a S$1,000 monthly average balance. If you credit your salary (minimum S$2,000) monthly into the account, you can earn an extra 6 miles per S$1 spend. Note that the total bonus miles from this account are capped at 5% of your monthly average balance.
    • Sign-up offer. Receive up to S$300 cash credit (for first 100 successful UOB customers applications) when you apply for a new credit card and spend at least S$1,500 within 30 days from card approval date. T&C apply. Ends 31 Oct 2021.

UOB PRVI Miles American Express Card perks

UOB PRVI Miles American Express card members are also entitled to the following exclusive perks:

    • Airport transfers. Enjoy . Simply make your booking at least two days before the pickup date.
    • 20,000 loyalty miles. Receive UNI$10,000 (equivalent to 20,000 miles) with a minimum spend of S$50,000 or more in a membership year based on a 12-month statement period.
    • Annual fee waiver. The S$256.80 annual fee is automatically waived on renewal with a minimum collective spend of S$50,000 on both principal and supplementary card(s) during the membership year.

While the UOB PRVI Miles American Express card comes with extra privileges compared to its Mastercard and Visa counterparts, there are a few downsides to the AMEX card to consider.

For example, some smaller overseas merchants may refuse to accept AMEX cards due to its significantly higher swipe fees that they’d have to pay for. AMEX exchange rates are usually higher than Mastercard’s and Visa’s as well.
