The UOB Direct Visa Debit Card is a rewards debit card which offers rebates as you spend day-to-day including on grocery shopping, filling up the tank, and more (Ts&Cs apply). The UOB Direct Visa Debit Card is a rewards debit card that lets you manage everyday spending with ease, while making the most of shopping benefits, travel perks and more. This debit card offers global ATM access on the Visa plus Network – a feature that isn’t available on all UOB debit cards. Make sure you understand any charges and fees if you plan to use your card overseas. Additionally, you’ll have access to over 1,200 ATMs in Singapore.
There is an annual fee of S$18 with this debit card, but this shouldn’t trouble you as it’ll be waived for your first three years. Plus, the fee is automatically waived if you make just 12 Visa transactions per year. As well as the many features of this card, you can use it just like any other debit card: send and receive money electronically, set up direct debits and make hassle-free payments to others.
There are two ways to apply for a debit card with UOB:
You have to submit a photocopy of your passport with at least six months’ validity, or a valid National Registration Identity Card (NRIC).
Am I allowed to have more than one debit card?
Yes, you can. But whether you should will depend on your personal circumstances. If you have a poor track record of managing your finances then it may be better to keep to one card (even if it means missing out on some account offers and rewards).

As a security measure, you will need to activate your Card before you use it for the first time. UOB makes it easy to do this if you have your debit card and phone with you.
