The Metro-UOB card is a rebates card that gives you 5% rebates on your spending at Metro stores, as well as a 10% discount on full-price merchandise. You will also get to eve $150 cash credit when you anjoy UOB card benefits, such as earning UNI$ on your card expenses to redeem rewards. This credit card is worth considering if you shop often at the Metro department store. Cardholders can also look forward to invitations to private sale events, earn double rebates at Double Metro$ weekends and get a 20% discount during the birthday month. While the annual card fee is on the high side, there is a 1-year waiver which can help you decide if it’s the right card for you before you start paying annual fees.

  • Earn 5% Metro$. Earn a 5% rebate on all your purchases at Metro, even on sales items. You can then accumulate and exchange your Metro$ for Metro Shoppers Cheques, which can be used to offset your next purchase at Metro.
  • Earn double Metro$. Earn Metro$ at double the rate during exclusive shopping events.
  • Complimentary delivery service. Free delivery service for your purchases when you spend a minimum of $150 nett at Metro. A minimum spending of $250 nett is required during storewide events.
  • Exclusive entry to Metro events. Be invited to exclusive previews and Metro sales events.
  • UOB card privileges. Other than Metro discounts, cardholders get to enjoy other UOB card perks, such as exclusive dining discounts and earn UOB reward points.

Features of the Metro-UOB Credit Card

  • Annual fee. Yearly fees for the principal card are $192.60 but there will be a 1-year waiver. Your first supplementary card is free but the subsequent card will incur an annual fee of $96.30 p.a.
  • Apple Pay. Cashless and convenient shopping experiences using your Apple mobile phone for payments.
  • UOB rewards. For every $5 charged to your Metro-UOB Card, you will earn UNI$1. Choose from over 1,000 reward items including dining discounts, shopping vouchers, movie tickets and more.

How to apply for the Metro-UOB Credit Card

If you’ve decided that you would like to apply for the Metro-UOB Credit Card, you can do so via UOB’s website. New-to-bank customers can use MyInfo to complete their application online, with real-time approval via SMS. If you aren’t able to use MyInfo then you can fill in the online form.

Make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria and have the required documents before beginning your application.

Eligibility criteria

  • Principal cardholder must be 21 years or older
  • An income of at least $30,000 for Singapore citizens, or $80,000 for foreigners.

Salaried employees

  • Photocopy of NRIC (front and back)
  • Latest billing proof (dated within the last six months) as per your local home address (e.g. telephone or utilities bills, etc) if differs from address in NRIC, and

Income documents (any of the following):

  • Latest 12 months’ CPF Contribution History Statement or
  • Latest Computerised Payslip (Fixed income earner with Basic Salary of more than $2,500
  • Latest 3 months’ Computerised Payslip (Variable Income earner with Basic Salary < $2,500) or
  • Latest Income Tax Notice of Assessment + Latest 12 months’ CPF Contribution History Statement

Self-employed

  • Photocopy of NRIC (front and back)
  • Latest billing proof
  • Latest income tax assessment

Foreigners

  • Valid passport with at least six months’ validity)
  • Employment Pass (EP or S Pass only with at least six months’ validity)
  • Latest billing proof (dated within the last six months) as per your local home address (e.g. telephone or utilities bills, etc.)

Income documents (any of the following):

  • Latest Computerised Payslip (in Singapore Dollar currency), or
  • Latest Income Tax Notice of Assessment + Latest Computerised Payslip (in Singapore Dollar currency), or
  • Company Letter certifying Employment and Monthly Salary (in Singapore Dollar currency) dated within three months
