Budget Direct car insurance – levels of cover

Comprehensive cover

The strongest cover offered by this insurer. It gives all the same protection as third party, fire and theft cover; plus, it covers any type of damage to your car, including extra repairs to your car’s windscreen and windows.

Third party, fire and theft cover

This type of insurance covers the cost of repairs following damage or injury to other people’s cars and property. Plus, it covers you against the loss or damage to your car if it’s stolen, or gets damaged by fire.

Third party only

This is the most basic type of car insurance and will only cover any injury or damage you cause to other cars or property. It won’t give you any financial help for injury or repairs to your vehicle.

What policy add-ons are available?

  • Medical Expenses. Get up to $500 in coverage per person for the insured driver and passengers
  • No Claim Discount (NCD) Protector. Retain your hard-earned NCD in case you need to make up to one claim on your insurance. Read more about how NCD works.
  • Any Workshop. Enjoy the flexibility to choose where your vehicle gets repaired.
  • Windscreen Add-on. Get up to two claims on a damaged windscreen or windows (this cover is included with comprehensive cover).
  • Transport Allowance. If your car isn’t roadworthy or is lost, you could get a S$50 transport allowance per day for up to 10 days.
  • 24/7 Roadside Assistance. Get round-the-clock help for emergencies or breakdowns while on the road.
  • Overseas Emergency Allowance. Get up to S$25,000 in cover per person if you need to be returned to Singapore after an accident in Malaysia or Thailand.
  • Modifications and accessories. These will need to be LTA compliant and pre-approved by your insurer.

You should expect to pay more for your policy if you choose any extras.
