What is Scprime?
SCP is the native cryptocurrency of the ScPrime blockchain - an enterprise-grade cloud storage provider. The blockchain is focused on providing decentralized data storage solutions to companies worldwide.
This includes offering features such as secure backup and disaster recovery. By decentralising data storage, ScPrime hopes to allow anyone to become a data storage provider and de-monopolise the current data storage industry.
According to the project’s documentation, the ScPrime cloud storage service relies on a global network of independent storage provider nodes. Users worldwide can offer unused computer hard drive space which can be utilised by others in the network. All storage provided helps to build ScPrime’s Distributed Datacenter. By offering unused hard drive space, and supporting the network, storage providers can earn passive income. This network of storage provider nodes allows ScPrime to remove costs and improve performance in comparison to traditional cloud storage providers. All files stored across the Distributed Datacenter are encrypted and then divided into shards. Dividing into shards allows for files to be retrieved no matter what Storage Providers are online. SCP is the native utility token of the ScPrime network and is required for all of the processes within the ecosystem. It acts as the primary economic incentive for Storage Providers and is also required by all renters looking to utilise ScPrime’s storage features.
