Rihanna’s new lingerie line appears to include plus sizes
Rihanna impresses again by offering a variety of sizing options for her new lingerie collab, Savage x Fenty.
From her recent collaboration with Puma to her massive success with Fenty Beauty Body Lava, Rihanna is definitely having a moment. She usually is, of course, being Rihanna and all, so it should come as no surprise that RiRi remembered to include plus-size ladies in her new lingerie collection, Savage x Fenty. We would expect nothing less and can’t wait to see what options are available.
Everything about the collection is largely speculation at this point, with new clues being dropped on its Instagram page, @savagexfenty. Rihanna fans are already super excited to see what the line has to offer; although the page only has four ambiguous posts, it already has nearly 125K followers. The first mention of the collection was last week, when Rihanna posted a short teaser video on her own Instagram page. The video was also posted to the Savage x Fenty account.
Since then, the posts have slowly but surely continued. The second mysterious video clip appears to feature Rihanna herself.
The name of the line was officially revealed and confirmed on Instagram Friday. That’s also when promising information about the collection’s size range was revealed. Friday’s post encouraged fans to visit the brand’s website to enter their size information, and the drop-down menu included bra sizes up to a 44D and panty sizes up to a 3X.
This seems to indicate that Ri’s new collection will include those sizes. Since many plus-size women are frequently disappointed by brands that exclude them from their sizing options, Rihanna’s range of sizes is a breath of fresh air.
Of course, given Rihanna’s smashing success with Fenty Beauty, her makeup brand that includes more dark foundation shades than most lines, it’s really no surprise that the star wants to continue including those usually excluded by retail. It gives more of us the chance to try to look half as good as Ri Ri did at Coachella, so we’ll take it.
Great work Rihanna. We hope to see other designers follow suit soon.
