The perks

  • Signup bonus: Earn up to 60,000 bonus points.
Earn 50,000 points after your first purchase. This is an easy requirement, and the bonus can get you an award night at many Radisson properties.

Earn another 10,000 points after you spend $1,500 within the first 90 days.

The total signup bonus is worth $180 according to our March 2019 valuation. This is slightly lower than you’ll find elsewhere as some travel cards offer bonuses worth $200 or more.

What can I get with my signup bonus?

With a 60,000-point signup bonus, you can stay at a Category 1 through 6 Radisson property. Only a Category 7 hotel would be out of reach, as one night costs 70,000 points.

  • Rewards: Up to 6x points.
Earn 6x points at participating Radisson properties. These include the Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson.

Though 6x points seems like a lot, each Radisson Rewards point is worth $0.03 cents on average according to our March 2019 valuation. That means you’ll earn a 1.8% rewards rate on eligible Radisson spending.

Earn 3x points on all other purchases, which gives you a 0.9% rewards rate.

Compare these rates to a product like the Wells Fargo Propel American Express® Card, which offers a 3x rewards rate on hotels and 1x on all other purchases.

  • 25,000 bonus points each year after you renew your card.
These points are worth $75, and can help you cover the card’s annual fee.
  • Complimentary Silver status in the Radisson Rewards program after you activate and use your card.
Normally, it takes nine nights or six stays to reach this tier, which is one up from the entry-level loyalty tier of Club status. Benefits include Elite rollover nights, complimentary room upgrades when available, early check-in and late checkout.

You’ll earn 22x points on eligible stays and on food and drinks charged to your room. You’ll also receive a 10% discount on food and beverages at participating hotel restaurants. That’s slightly better than the 20x points and 5% discount you’d get with Club status.

If you’ve already reached Silver, Gold or Platinum status, you’ll earn 10 qualifying nights instead.

You’ll also like …

  • Earn Free Night E-Certs upon reaching spending targets and renewing your card.
You’ll earn one Free Night E-Certificate if you spend 10,000 on eligible purchases and renew your card.

You can earn up to three E-Certs each card year, for a total of $30,000 in spending.

An E-Cert is good for a night in a standard room at participating US properties: Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inn & Suites.

  • Visa Signature benefits.
Call Visa’s concierge service for help securing dinner reservations, booking travel, buying gifts and more.

Plus, access preferred seating at select events, culinary experiences, food and wine offers, movie-ticket offers and exclusive sporting-event ticket sales.

  • Visa Signature travel benefits.
Leverage $1 million in travel accident coverage and lost luggage reimbursement when you use your card for eligible travel purchases.

You can also access Travel and Emergency Assistance Services, rental collision damage waivers and emergency card and cash replacement on vacation.

What to watch out for

  • Annual fee: $50.
Other no-annual-fee travel cards might offer better rewards for your spending.
  • You may be approved for the Radisson Rewards™ Platinum Visa® Card instead.
You may receive this card if you aren’t approved for the Radisson Rewards™ Visa Signature® Card. The Platinum Visa version has a higher range of purchase and balance transfer APRs and may have different travel benefits from the Visa Signature version.

Bottom line

The Radisson Rewards™ Visa Signature® Card offers decent perks to offset its $50 annual fee, particularly the annual points bonus. Earning Free Night E-Certs can yield extra value, and Silver status in Radisson Rewards offers solid benefits.

Consider other travel credit cards, however, if you’re an infrequent Radisson guest as you could earn better rewards with a different card.

Expert review

You can earn lots of points as a Radisson Rewards Club member, but the Radisson Rewards™ Visa Signature® Card can help you maximize rewards.

The card also offers a few perks to offset its annual fee, such as bonus points and Free Night E-Certs.
