What is Qanplatform?

QANX is the native cryptocurrency coin of the QAN blockchain. The QAN blockchain markets itself as the first quantum-resistant hybrid blockchain platform, that is capable of resisting quantum computing attacks.

As quantum computing progresses, attacks from quantum computers are expected to become a threat in the next 5 to 10 years. While resisting threats from quantum computers, the blockchain also facilitates the deployment of smart contracts and, therefore, decentralized applications (dApps). It is the hope of the QAN team that the blockchain can be utilised to build the quantum stage of DeFi, DAO, NFT and metaverse projects.

Rather than waiting for quantum computing to become a problem, the QAN blockchain aims to be preemptive and tackle the problem with innovative blockchain infrastructure. With QAN, dApp developers can already deploy quantum resistance smart contracts that fit into existing blockchain infrastructure. According to the project’s website, “by 2021, 90% of current enterprise blockchain platform implementations will require replacement within 18 months to remain competitive, secure, and avoid obsolescence.” In addition, 99% of current blockchains are not quantum-resistant, and the majority lack the public and private aspects of a hybrid blockchain necessary for enterprise adoption. To tackle these issues, the blockchain employs a Proof-of-Randomness consensus mechanism and is compatible with Ethereum-based applications via full integration with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. The blockchain also allows developers to code in a multitude of programming languages which QAN developers hope will make the blockchain far more accessible. QANX is the utility token of the layer-1 blockchain and is required by all users that wish to process transactions. In addition to transactions, the coin is also required by developers and validators. Developers need to purchase QANX to pay for smart contract deployment and validators need to stake QANX to support the network.
