What is Popsicle Finance?

Popsicle Finance is part of the next generation of decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols looking to improve upon the disconnectivity of blockchains and, therefore, liquidity. The protocol is a cross-chain yield farming optimizer that allows users to deposit tokens and start earning automatically.

However, in addition to offering yield farming opportunities, the protocol was designed to be blockchain agnostic, allowing for connection to different decentralized exchanges (DEXs) in the Ethereum, Fantom Opera, and Binance Smart Chain ecosystems.

According to the project’s website, Popsicle Finance’s pools offer invaluable liquidity to DEXs while maximising capital efficiency and yield rates for liquidity providers. The Popsicle Stand is Popsicle’s main farming product. By staking tokens within the Popsicle Stand users can support multiple DEXs within the industry while receiving platform rewards. The protocol then builds on the Popsicle Stand with its Sorbetto products, which allow users to maximise trading fees. Finally, the latest addition to the protocol is Frapped.io, a non-custodial wrapper for Tether (USDT). Frapped.io allows USDT to be utilised across multiple blockchains effortlessly. While offering connection to Ethereum, Fantom, BSC, Avalanche and Polygon, the team have ambitious plans to expand and integrate other networks such as Solana and Polkadot.

ICE is the native governance and utility token of Popsicle Finance. It was originally created on the Ethereum blockchain, following the ERC-20 standard, but it has since bridged to other chains. ICE is primarily used to incentivise and reward liquidity providers, however, the token is also required to maintain the governance of the protocol. All token holders can vote on future proposals, such as which pools to add and how to manage platform fees.
