Our favorite looks from the marvelous Met Gala

Amanda Swan 8 May 2018 NEWS

It’s the most fabulous night of the year in fashion, and nothing is too over the top.

There’s nothing quite like that first Monday in May when New York City’s beautiful Metropolitan Museum of Art opens its doors to the world’s biggest stars for a swanky night of fun and fashion. This year’s Met Gala theme was a bit controversial, as it addressed the influence of Catholicism on fashion. Although not everyone was thrilled with the theme, attendees at the event really brought their A game and showed off some amazing fashion and makeup looks.

Rihanna doesn’t need an excuse to be extra, just look at her Coachella outfits. Ri showed up to the Gala looking heavenly in a papal-inspired ensemble that sparkled and shined all night long. Rihanna for pope? Is that an option now?

Kim Kardashian

Kim’s Versace dress was sleek and beautiful, but we really can’t get over her makeup. She’s absolutely glowing in every photo taken at the gala. Who made up the fabulous Ms. Kardashian-West? None other than her friend and makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic, who recently helped her add new items to her KKW Beauty collection. The celebrity makeup artist reports that he used the KKW Beauty range to create the look, as well as Rodial products for skincare, available at Ulta.

Rita Ora

The British artist went all in on her bold Chanel headpiece. Spiked, black and floral, the headpiece almost looks like a dark halo when paired with the star’s sleek, straight locks.

Kate Bosworth

The actress/model recreated her bridal look for the Met Gala, and it was a stunning ensemble. With her angelic appearance, Kate perfectly fits the theme of celestial bodies.

Jasmine Sanders

Most stars rocked haute couture for the Met, as is tradition. But Jasmine Sanders lived up to her Golden Barbie moniker in this show-stopping gown from none other than H&M, proving that high fashion doesn’t have to be expensive.

We know the girl has a crazy good sense of fashion thanks to her recent collab with Boohoo, but this Joan of Arc-inspired look was really something special. The young star channeled her equally youthful French counterpart for a brave and heroic style.
