Whether you’re cheering on the hometown Thunder to another win or cruising Bricktown in a water taxi, you’re going to build up an appetite. That’s where Uber Eats hopes to come in.

The standalone mobile food delivery app came to Oklahoma City on September 21, 2017. The app, which can be downloaded to either you iPhone or Android, lets you enter your physical address and browse the menus of local restaurants.

You can add items to your cart by swiping them and pay for the order with your Uber account. There is a standard booking fee of $4.99 added to each order regardless of how much the final bill is.

Once paid for, you can use the app to track your order as it is prepared and picked up by an Uber Eats delivery partner. Once the driver is en route, your app will turn into a grid map showing the driver’s progress from the restaurant to your location. When they arrive, simply take your food and enjoy.

What areas of Oklahoma City does Uber Eats deliver to?

Most of the Oklahoma City metro area is served by Uber Eats. To ensure your address is party of that area download the app and enter it to see which restaurants service your area.

How does Uber Eats compare to DoorDash in Oklahoma City?

DoorDash has a network of 934 restaurants serving Oklahoma City. Included in that list are chains such as Baskin-Robbins, Taco Bell, McDonald’s Wendy’s, Jason’s Deli and Chick-fil-A. DoorDash typically runs from 8am-11am contingent on the actual service hours for each restaurant.

How do I modify an order or let a restaurant know I have food allergies?

When you are completing your Uber Eats order, there is a field labeled “Special Instructions” you can use to instruct the restaurant about any modifications you need made to your order. If you have food allergies, let the restaurant know of them here as well. Uber Eats partner restaurants are asked to call customers if they cannot complete the order with the special instructions. If you do suffer from allergies, I would be wise to call the restaurant ahead of time and share this information with them to ensure they can serve you properly.

Why is there an additional fee for busy areas listed on my app?

Busy fees are dynamically generated when there are more customers using the Uber Eats service than there are drivers available to pick up and deliver orders. The busy fee is an extra motivation to drivers to pick up your order and deliver it in a timely fashion. When the ratio of people using the app and drivers available evens out, the busy fee will drop automatically from there area. It’s easy to see which restaurants are affected by the busy fee as they will include an arrow just above the name of the restaurant. Hovering over the restaurant will show you the current fee and the approximate wait time for delivery.
