Whitstable Pearl preview

If you’re into British crime series, there’s a good chance Whitstable Pearl will make for a fun watch.

The show is based on Julie Wassmer’s novel series of the same name with the action set in a seaside town, so you can expect some nice views. Add some dark humour into the mix and the series has all the ingredients of a binge-worthy treat – fish and chips not included.

Whitstable Pearl follows restaurant owner Pearl, who is played by Kerry Godliman. You might know her from After Life or Derek. She starts a detective agency out of her restaurant and begins working on her first case when she discovers the body of a close friend. When a second body shows up, things get increasingly complicated.

Along the way, Pearl forms an unlikely partnership with DCI Mike McGuire, played by Howard Charles (The Widow, The Red Line). He just transferred to the seaside town from London, looking to escape his past.

As the two investigate, they begin to realise that not everything in Whitstable is as bright and shiny as it seems.

Intrigued? Then add this to your watchlist ASAP. There’s a good chance the show will keep you coming back for more.
