When is the cheapest time to fly to Queenstown?

The cheapest time to fly to Queenstown is generally the cheapest during the shoulder seasons in May and late-September/early-October. It’s outside of peak season for both summer and winter tourism. That said, we think it’s still a great time to visit. May is an ideal time to hire a car or caravan and make your way around New Zealand as there are fewer tourists on the roads and there’s less competition when booking accommodation.

How far in advance should I book my flight to Queenstown?

Prices for flights to Queenstown steadily increase the closer to the departure date you get. We recommend booking your flights as early as possible, especially if you’re travelling during peak periods like school holidays or over Christmas/New Years.
