How do I buy and sell bullion with MyGold?
You can buy gold, silver and platinum from MyGold by completing the following steps:
- Choose your product. Browse the selection of products available on the MyGold website.
- Contact MyGold. Submit an online request or phone MyGold direct to specify the product you want. Once pricing and availability are confirmed, you can reserve the item you want to buy and submit an order.
- Confirm payment. You can pay for your purchase via Internet bank transfer, EFTPOS or with cash. USD and AUD wire transfers are also available. Once payment has been verified, you’ll receive an update about the delivery details of your item.
If you’d like to sell an item to MyGold, you can phone the provider or fill out an online enquiry form. A MyGold representative will then be in touch to discuss your needs.
What are the fees?
There are no prices listed on the MyGold website, so you’ll need to phone or email the provider to find out how much your purchase will cost. Once you’ve received a quote, you can compare it with the current spot price of gold, silver or platinum.
Delivery fees also apply, but you’ll need to call MyGold for a quote.
MyGold also offers certain customers the option of storing bullion at its headquarters in Auckland. All items are insured and kept in tamper-evident boxes, but you’ll need to contact MyGold to find out more about storage pricing.
Is MyGold safe?
Established in 2009, MyGold is an independent precious metals dealer based in Auckland. It provides a certification and metal purity guarantee on all products, and claims to have “the most five-star reviews of any New Zealand gold dealer”.
MyGold sources gold and silver from a range of local and international suppliers, and is an authorised distributor for the Perth Mint. It also mints its own gold and silver bullion, while all products MyGold sells come stamped with their metal type, weight and purity.
Orders are delivered overnight via insured courier, with a signature required before you can receive your order. You also have the option of collecting your order in person at MyGold’s Auckland office — you’ll need to provide a valid form of photo ID to collect your purchase.
