Bankdirect Credit Cards

BankDirect: The Beginning

BankDirect is a unique financial organisation in that it is the only bank in New Zealand that doesn’t have any physical locations, meaning that it can afford to offer customers better rates both on loans and savings accounts. BankDirect operates solely via Internet and phone. So, if you are looking for a credit card with a great rate, you’re unlikely to find a better offer anywhere else.

Bankdirect Credit Cards No Longer Available for Applications

All Bankdirect credit cards have been switched to ASB and is no longer available for new applications. However, this information has been kept for historical purposes. Check out the cards currently on offer from ASB

BankDirect was founded in October 1997 and took the New Zealand bank market by storm because it was the only bank in the country to operate via phone and Internet only. The fact that this bank has no physical locations gives it an edge over its competitors because it offers customers lower interest rates on home loans and other lending products, while offering higher rates on your savings.

It’s not hard to figure out how BankDirect can afford such attractive rates. After all, the lack of physical branches translates into substantial savings. Additionally, giving their customers the opportunity to bank whenever and from wherever they want has drawn plenty of customers in.

BankDirect: The Bank of the 21st Century

Many businesses seem to have fallen behind the times, especially banks, when it comes to understanding that consumers today are much busier than they used to be decades ago. This means that people rarely have time to sort out their banking, especially since bank opening hours seem to coincide with their work day.

Now, however, thanks to BankDirect, customers can access their accounts at any time of day or night, whether it’s a holiday or not. Thus, BankDirect customers will enjoy Internet banking, telephone banking and conditional loan pre-approval via phone, including on weekends.

BankDirect has really taken things to the next level, ensuring the maximum degree of convenience for their customers. Thus, the lack of branches means that bank never closes, allowing people to do their banking from home at any time of day or night, without having to queue up or having to take time off work to get to the bank.

BankDirect: A Better Deal

You shouldn’t be surprised that BankDirect offers some great deals, many of which are far more attractive than anything else that’s currently on the market. After all, the lack of branches means that overheads are cheaper and the bank has transferred those savings over to the customers by lowering the interest rate.

Whatever you want to do, you will find you have full control over your account. Whether you want to change the amount of your loan repayment, or modify your credit card limit, or any other task, you can do everything by phone or via the internet yourself.

Note that BankDirect doesn’t service businesses or organisations. The bank is fully committed to the individual.

BankDirect has always been the leader in innovation and things haven’t changed. The bank ensures to stay ahead of the curve by innovating. BankDirect allows customers to modify the structure of their repayments and many other things, without having to go and see a bank manager.

Clearly, BankDirect is a different type of bank but what’s important is that it can offer you a great deal on all sorts of things.
