Infratil overview and background

Established in 1994, Infratil Limited invests in a wide range of infrastructure companies. With a strategy to invest in growth sectors, Infratil owns businesses that operate in the energy, transport, telecommunications and social infrastructure sectors.

Some of the businesses in which Infratil holds a stake include CDC Data Centres, Tilt Renewables, Longroad Energy, Trustpower, Wellington Airport, Vodafone New Zealand and RetireAustralia.

Infratil’s interim results for the period ended 30 September 2020 were released in November 2020. Key results in a period heavily affected by COVID-19 included:

  • Proportionate capital expenditure of $488.9 million (an increase of $86.2 million)
  • Net debt of $1,389.6 million ($385.1 million lower than at 31 March 2020)
  • Declared dividend of 6.25 cents cash and 1.75 cents imputation credits
