Whenever you’re exploring different cards, be sure to look at the fees and interest rates. Card companies don’t always list their fees on their main homepage. This holds true for the NetFirst Platinum card. In fact, you have to look into the NetFirst Platinum card’s terms and conditions to see that it charges monthly and processing fees per transaction.

It’s important to note that the NetFirst Platinum card isn’t a credit card, and is instead a line of credit for the Horizon Outlet website.

The NetFirst Platinum card has a few benefits, and is especially designed for those with a poor or no credit history. This is mainly because the application process doesn’t require a credit check. In fact, the application is simple and quick. If you’re feeling trapped by your credit score, the NetFirst Platinum card could be worth looking into. The approval process also doesn’t require an employment check.

  • Credit bureau. The NetFirst Platinum card reports to Equifax credit bureau.
  • Credit limit. With the card, you can qualify for a maximum unsecured $500 credit limit.
  • Approval. You’re 100% guaranteed approval.

What to watch out for

Though the NetFirst Platinum card is offered to those with poor credit, there are some major drawbacks. First, the card can only be used for purchases made on the Horizon Outlet website; this is especially important to note since NetFirst Platinum does not disclose this upfront.

Next, if you aren’t a member of the Horizon Outlet, you can’t explore its merchandise. This makes it difficult for you to decide if the card would benefit you. Many customers miss this fact, saying it isn’t clearly advertised.

Finally, there’s a $19.95 monthly maintenance fee that is automatically debited. This means you can expect to pay almost $250 per year in maintenance fees, which is much steeper than most other credit cards for those with low or no credit. There are also varying processing fees with each item you buy through the Horizon Outlet.

Remember, the NetFirst Platinum card is not a credit card, but a line of credit. Horizon Card Services states that it’s not affiliated with any credit services organization, banking or insurance organization — it’s not a Visa, Mastercard or debit card.

If you’ve heard that the Horizon Outlet has the merchandise you need, the NetFirst Platinum could work for you. If you would like a card for other stores, you may want to explore other options.

Am I even eligible?

You can apply for the NetFirst Platinum Card if you are:

  • At least 1 8 years old.
  • A US citizen.

What information do I need to apply?

  • Contact information, including email.
  • Birthdate.
  • Credit or debit account to pay for membership fees.

How to apply for the NetFirst Platinum card

NetFirst Platinum claims the card application process is quick and simple. First, just go to Netfirstplatinum.com and fill in your email address and zip code. From there, continue to the NetFirst Platinum card activation page. While the website does not explain the application process upfront, you can expect to input your personal details for identification verification purposes.

As always, read the terms and conditions before signing up. Additionally, you should be aware that upon signing up, you are subject to OFAC and Patriot Act Verification.

I got the card. Now what?

After account activation, you will receive your card within five days to two weeks.

Once you receive you card, you can shop on the Horizon Outlet Store. Once you buy an item, you’ll be charged processing fees. You can choose to pay for your purchases over time, or pay it off each month. Your monthly membership benefit fee of $24.95 is automatically deducted.

Your payment schedule will vary on the item you purchase.

The card does not offer any rewards. Though it’s not a credit card, it does report to Equifax credit bureau.

The major drawback of NetFirst’s is the lack of information provided on the website, and that it only works with Horizon Outlet.

Bottom line

If you have poor credit and are looking for a card to use exclusively with the online Horizon Outlet Store, the NetFirst Platinum card could be a helpful solution. For general shopping, another card may be a better choice. Before going with the NetFirst Platinum card, be sure to check out other credit cards that are similar.
