Why Should the AmBank BonusLink Visa Card be Your Travel Card?

Looking for ways to enhance your travel experiences? Well, look no further Bear Clan. There’s a card that will help you do just that – and this time, it really is a one-size-fits-all kind of deal.

The AmBank BonusLink Visa Card is the card that works twice as hard to reward you. It doubles as a credit card AND a BonusLink card!

Here, we’re gonna list down all the reasons why you should make the AmBank BonusLink Visa card your travel card. It’s kind of a – say it with us – No Brainer.

Card Application Requirements

First, let’s take a look at the minimum annual income requirements for all three credit cards:

VISA Signature CardVISA Platinum CardVISA Gold Card
RM80,000 p.a.RM48,000 p.a.RM24,000 p.a.

As for the age requirements:

Type of ApplicationMinimum Age
Principal Card21 and above
Supplementary Card18 and above

With AmBank, the first three Supplementary Cards are Free-For-Life! As the Principal Cardholder, you’ll be able to obtain these Supplementary Cards for your family members with no extra charges and minimal documentation – all for the maximum amount of rewards.

When it comes to credit limits, bear in mind that the total combined credit limit cannot exceed the Principal Cardholder’s approved credit limit. So, you can either share your credit limit with these Supplementary Cards or you can nominate a (much?) lower credit limit for any of the Supplementary Cards separately.

Additionally, the Principal Cardholder is also responsible for paying the bills as all Supplementary Cards are billed under the single primary account. It is, of course, possible for a Supplementary Cardholder to pay off their own bills with their Supplementary Card. It’s just that the final charges on their Supplementary Card will need to be paid from the Principal Cardholder’s account.

Earn BonusLink Points while You Hibernate at Home

When you’re not off jet setting to faraway lands, you’re gonna want to add some BonusLink Points to your travel card so that you’ll have a nice, full honeypot when it comes time to leave the bear cave.

Here’s why the AmBank BonusLink Visa Card is truly a gateway to more rewards for the pennywise traveller:

  1. You get 10X BonusLink Points!

Collect 30 BonusLink Points* for every RM10 spent on selected retail transactions as listed below:

  • Shell Petrol
  • Parkson purchases
  • Dining
  • Groceries
  • Online transactions
  • Entertainment: Movie tickets, bowling alleys & more!
  1. TWO SETS of BonusLink Points!

Use this card at BonusLink Partners’ outlets to collect two sets of BonusLink Points, one from AmBank and another from BonusLink Partners.

  1. Check out the correct ways of using the AmBank BonusLink Visa Card at Shell stations and other BonusLink Partners’ outlets to make sure that you’re making the most out of your cards.

*Do bear in mind that the award of 30 BonusLink Points per RM10 spent on retail transactions is capped at a maximum of 3,000 BonusLink Points, which is equivalent to spending a total of RM1,000 on said transactions.

*Once you reach the maximum amount of points, your following retail spending on those transactions will be 3 BonusLink Points per RM10 spent for the remainder of the month.

*No BonusLink Points will be awarded for Shell or any other petrol transactions after you hit the maximum 3,000 mark.

*No additional BonusLink Points will be awarded if an online transaction also bears the same Merchant Category Code (a four-digit number assigned to a merchant by their bank for the purposes of identifying their type of business) for groceries, dining, entertainment, Shell petrol or Parkson departmental stores.

We’ll let you know a little later how all those points can go towards your travel savings. Excited about this card yet?
