1.Hong Leong Bank GSC Gold and Platinum
If they offered movie awards to credit cards, this one would win the Golden Globe for Best Cinema Goodies on offer! In fact, their tagline is ‘Kad Kredit Wayang Paling Power!’
Right from the approval stage, the Hong Leong Bank GSC Gold and Platinum cards will sendincredible freebies your way.
New Platinum cardholders will enjoy ten GSC adult tickets. New Gold cardholders on the other hand, will receive five GSC adult tickets instead. The tickets will come in the form of promo codes and only new cardholders who do not hold any existing HLB Principal credit cards (including Mach) are entitled to them.
No cinema experience is complete without snacks and these cards will keep your appetite in check! When you purchase via GSC online or the mobile app, you’ll also be slurping down a cool 30% off any popcorn buckets, snacks, and drinks. Purchasing them over the counter will net you a 10% discount instead. This deal however, is not applicable on Wednesdays, as they’re already your designated cheap movie tickets day.
And to top it all off, cardholders will automatically enjoy RM6 off all adult movie tickets for all days (excluding movie screenings on Wednesday), for all movies and all halls including Signature halls when purchasing via GSC’s website or mobile app.
Do note that all these offers are valid for GSC cinemas only (with the exception of GSC Terminal 1, Seremban)– it is after all known as the Hong Leong Bank GSC Gold and Platinum Cards.
In terms of eligibility, this Platinum card is open to those with minimum annual income earnings of RM60,000.
But if you are earning less, you can still apply for the Gold Card with an annual income of RM24,000 and enjoy comparable movie treats.
2.Maybank 2 Gold
If you frequent TGV cinemas, having a Maybank credit card will do you plenty of good.
Holding a Maybank American Express®, MasterCard®, Visa Credit or Debit Card will provide plush cinema privileges.
For this list, we’re highlighting the Maybank 2 Gold, a standout for a number of reasons. For starters, you get two cards, an American Express or Maybank Gold credit card.
You’ll also have the chance to earn TreatsPoints on both cards and up to 5% weekend cashback (which include movie tickets purchases) on the American Express card.
What’s more, even those with lower annual earnings can apply for these cards with the minimum income requirement of just RM30,000 per year.
Plus, the annual fees are waived for life.
As for cinema perks, enjoy cheaper tickets at RM10, RM20 and RM24, respectively, for Standard Hall, IMAX 2D and IMAX 3D tickets when buying before 6pm every day (while offer is valid).
If you are a fan of premium seats, then you can also take advantage of the Indulge offers for discounted tickets at just RM35 (normal price, RM45) from Monday to Thursday.

HSBC Credit Cards
If you’re a weekend-movie warrior, then this is the deal for you!
All HSBC and HSBC Amanah credit card holders enjoy a flat rate of only RM12 for their Preferred Seats at all TGV cinemas on Saturdays and Sundays.
Purchase your tickets using your HSBC or HSBC Amanah credit card at TGV’s ticket counters to enjoy this deal which ends on 30 April 2019! Lucky you, it is also applicable to HSBC’s debit card holders too.
1,000 tickets are up for grabs every weekend, but you can gather up to 10 moviegoers per transaction.
3.Standard Chartered JustOne Platinum MasterCard
Movie tickets can be expensive, but with this card – you can buy them at just RM10flat (almost) every day!
Buy up to two tickets per day, except on Wednesdays, at all GSC outlets. The offer is available on a first-come, first-served basis with only (a rather quirky) 149tickets available daily, so it’s best to buy tickets early.
This promo runs until 28 February 2020.
The card itself comes with inclusive premium privileges, where the minimum income requirement is just RM24,000 annually.
This means even those with lower salaries or new to the workforce are eligible to apply and enjoy the perks.
Moreover, the annual fee of RM265 is waived for the first year. For subsequent years, spending a minimum of RM20,000 annually with your card will earn an annual fee waiver as well.
Interest rates on this card are average at 15% to 18% per annum.
4.Citi Clear Credit Card
If Friday night movies with a buddy sound like your thing, then this card will “clearly” be of interest to you!
With it, you can buy one-for-one movie tickets every Friday from both GSC and TGV cinema outlets.
For GSC tickets, be sure to make the purchase from the GSC Website or Mobile App to get your free ticket (limited to one per day). This promotion with GSC ends on 31 March 2019, so don’t miss out on this offer while you can.
For TGV cinemas, you can make the purchase and redemption over-the-counter.
But apart from cinema offers, what else can this card give you? Free coffee! Yes, coffee and tea lovers will enjoy the one-for-one drinks promo at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.
In addition, youngsters and young-at-heart cardholders might appreciate the opportunity to earn extra reward points at hip-hop happening places like Zouk Club KL, Topshop and GAP.
What’s more, the annual fee for this card is waived in the first year, when you swipe at least three times within 60 days of the card’s approval.
In terms of eligibility, those aged 21 years and above, earning a minimum annual income of RM24,000 may apply.
