If you’re buying the Emily Crib mattress, use a crib that meets safety standards and that the mattress fits snugly inside. Read more about crib safety and compare more options in our crib mattress guide.
Mattresses from My Green Mattress come with a 20-year limited warranty. Our research indicates that latex mattresses can hold up better than some memory foam mattresses — some lasting 10 years or more before needing to be replaced.
The Natural Escape, Pure Echo and Kiwi Bunk Bed mattresses are upholstered on one side and should not be flipped. But the company does recommend rotating them once per month for the first three months so they break in evenly. After that, you can rotate every three to four months.
The Emily Crib and regular Kiwi mattresses are upholstered on both sides and should be flipped once per month for the first three months. After the first three months, the company recommends alternating flipping and rotating the Emily and Kiwi mattresses once per season.

The company asks that you try your new mattress for at least 30 days before requesting a return, since it can take some time for your body to adjust to a new bed. If there’s a price difference, you’ll either receive a refund for the difference or be asked to pay it.
There are a few important things to note, though:
My Green Mattress asks that you donate your mattress to a reputable charity. Contact My Green Mattress customer service to get help finding a reputable charity. You arrange for the pick up or drop off with the charity and get proof of the donation. After My Green Mattress gets proof in the form of a photo and receipt, it’ll initiate a refund.

My Green Mattress offers a range of options, each made with eco-friendly, natural materials like organic cotton, organic wool, 100% natural latex and even coconut coir. All of this makes for naturally hypoallergenic mattresses.
In fact, the entire company was founded when craftsman Tim Masters needed to find a hypoallergenic solution to his daughter Emily’s eczema and environmental allergies.
My Green Mattress gets rave reviews online. The overwhelming majority of reviews on TrustPilot get 4 or 5 stars, with comments saying that the mattresses are comfortable, durable and supportive. Customer service also gets kudos for speedy, helpful service in a variety of circumstances.
While negative reviews are few and far between, there are some. A few customers found the mattresses to be too firm, and at least one reviewer said the mattress had a bad odor.
Both of these brands offer organic, eco-friendly beds. My Green Mattress offers more options, while Avocado focuses on a single model. The Natural Escape by My Green Mattress is the most similar to the Avocado bed — both are constructed with spring coils, natural latex and a wool fire barrier. Avocado also offers a vegan option without the wool.
Expect to pay a bit more for Avocado — it runs $100 more than the Natural Escape. But if you’re looking to spend even less, My Green Mattress has other lower-priced options.
The verdict? My Green Mattress can be a great pick if you’re looking within a budget, while Avocado is worth a look if you want a vegan option and have a bit more to spend.
If you’re searching for a hypoallergenic mattress made of organic, natural materials, My Green Mattress could be a worthy contender. This brand is also worth a look if you’re in the market for a crib or bunk bed mattress.
