MoneyGram launches Facebook Messenger cash transfers
For now, you can only send cash to your recipient when using the Sendbot.
International money transfer provider, MoneyGram, has introduced a new service that allows customers in the US to transfer funds worldwide using Facebook Messenger. The new tech was released during Facebook’s F8 Developer Conference in San Jose, California.
The MoneyGram Sendbot allows customers to send money transfers from their account to any of its 350,000 agent locations around the globe simply by texting the desired recipient on Facebook Messenger.
The full-feature money transfer chatbot includes services such as intuitive thinking software, a money transfer tracking tool and a dedicated agency location finder.
For now, you can only send cash to your recipient when using Sendbot. If you would like to send money to an account, you can do so by logging into to your MoneyGram account via the company’s website.
Facebook Messenger is the social media giant’s online instant messaging service, integrated with the company’s web-based chat feature and also available as a stand-alone software app for cell phone devices.
MoneyGram operates in over 190 countries and is powered by global foreign exchange provider OFX. MoneyGram Sendbot is currently only available to US-based customers with existing online accounts. The bot can be accessed by searching for MoneyGram in the Facebook Messenger Discover tab.
