MAC launches Hint of Color Lip Oil in the US
The color-changing glosses are a best-seller in Asia.
MAC Cosmetics is set to launch its Hint of Color Lip Oils collection in the US next month.
The color-changing lip glosses have proved to be a huge hit in Asia and will be available to American customers beginning in March.
There are four colors in the range: Doll to Diva (hot pink), Pale Princess (lemon yellow), La La Love You (magenta) and Candy Drop (grape) — and each one costs $17.
MAC describes them on its website as having “a little color, a lot of comfort!” adding that “this lightweight gelled oil melts onto your lips to condition, flushing them with a delicate tint, but just a hint! A blend of five oils with soothing ingredients seals in hydration for hours, making them feel quenched while providing a glossy finish.”
And each one, which comes in a 12ml bottle, is believed to change hues depending on the body’s pH levels, so for example, the Pale Princess goes from yellow to a custom shade of pink.
They contain natural plant extracts and nourishing essential oils that repair chapped and dehydrated lips. The lip treatments are also non-stick, boast moisturizing properties and can last up to eight hours.
Also being introduced by MAC in March are more Dazzleshadows and Dazzleglasses lip glosses, as well as nine new shades of the brand’s iconic LiquidLast Liner, which costs $21.
Currently only available in black, that will be joined next month by an assortment of colors, including Keep It Current, a deep matte red, and Rich and Robust, a pearl-infused purple magenta.
In January, the cosmetics giant debuted its MAC Lunar New Year collection, which includes four lipsticks, a shadow palette and a powder compact.
