Lady A’s Hillary Scott embraces her post-pregnancy glow

Amanda Swan 4 May 2018 NEWS

Nine months and two beautiful baby girls later, Hillary Scott is embracing her natural beauty.

Country music superstar Hillary Scott, lead singer of the band Lady Antebellum, never let her pregnancy slow her down. Now, she’s the proud mom of two beautiful baby girls (and an energetic four year old), but she’s continued to build her thriving career without stop. Scott understands better than anyone the challenges of pregnancy and motherhood and she’s trying to embrace them head on.

The singer recently teamed up with haircare brand Herbal Essence to promote the Pregnant Women Can Campaign. Herbal Essence is a popular brand sold in stores around the country like CVS and Target. The project hopes to show society that pregnant women aren’t incompetent just because they’re carrying another life inside of them. Scott, who made a show-stopping appearance at the Academy of Country Music Awards when her newborns were just weeks old, understands first hand how capable women can be.

Although Scott knows moms are some of the most capable people in the world, she’s never pretended it’s an easy juggling act to master. She recently admitted in an interview with People that her newborn twins have taken a toll on her self care routine. “I will say, if I gotta run out the door I pretty much draw on my eyebrows, put my hair in a bun and maybe have time for a little wand of mascara,” Scott said. “And I really try to take a shower everyday!” She added, always honest.

Although life with little ones in the house or on the way can be exhausting, the Pregnant Women Can Campaign is an important reminder that women shouldn’t have to put their goals on hold to have a family. Likewise, they shouldn’t have to put having a family on hold to have a career. Although it sometimes feels like we’re forced to pick and choose, Scott demonstrates that it’s possible for a woman to do it all with hard work, determination and just a touch of southern charm.
