Do I need proof I've had a negative test before departing for New Zealand?

Some countries don't have the facilities to provide pre-departure testing for Indians and if you're travelling from those below countries, you'll need to visit a doctor and get a certificate noting that you don't have any symptoms.

Do I need to quarantine when I arrive in New Zealand?

If you're travelling to New Zealand from India as a citizen, resident or essential worker, you will need to:

  • Quarantine on arrival (You'll be assigned a room in a government-designated hotel)
  • Stay there for 14 days at your own expense.

For travellers from India, according to the New Zealand Government, it will cost:

  • $3,100 for the first or only person in the room, regardless of whether it's an adult or a child
  • Additional adults per room cost $950 per person
  • Children up to 17 years old staying in a room with an adult cost $475 per child
